The rainforests of north Queensland offer a quiet haven for the busy professional educator who needs to "research" firsthand, the wonderful natural beauty of Queensland (to share with students) of course.
Use your conference experience to enjoy the rainforest and rejuvinate the soul (and use your digital camera to collect copyright-free images).
The reef and seas off Cairns are fantasic. A visit to the reef is an educational experience. The seas off Cairns are great places for recreational fishing. Just ask our management committee. Some people just like admiring the coastline near Cairns. The views on the way to Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation certainly promise a de-stressful time.
The promotion for ACEC 2006 was the most vibrant ever seen. As part of promotion for 2006, several Chapter members from FNQ Cairns travelled to very cold and wet, wintery Adelaide to promote what Cairns can uniquely boast in July - sun, brilliant weather, a great outdoor leisure experience and a fantastic setting for a conference to boot. Thanks to Chapter people who volunteered to give up their holidays in the best place in the world, to promote the 2006 event. Thanks also to all the Queenslanders who proudly wore the stickers every day to remind everyone about where they can spend their 2006 conference break.
The management team of ACEC 2006 would like to share with you a virtual tour of their favourite places to relax in North Queensland. Your challenge is come and visit us in October 2006 to experience these great places yourself.
