ACCE and QSITE Welcomes ISTE to ACEC 2006
As ISTE Affiliates, QSITE and ACCE are both pleased to welcome a special sponsorship and partnership to ISTE for this conference. ISTE's involvement adds to the truly International flavour of this event and draws in the members and affiliates of ISTE world-wide.
International members of ISTE, including US delegates, will be invited to an international reception, co-sponsored by ISTE, as well as attending ISTE membership events in the conference. Executive Boards from ISTE Affiliates throughout the world will participate in a Boards Executive Meeting to share ideas on managing non-profit professional associations.
About the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
ISTE is a non-profit professional organization with a worldwide membership of leaders and potential leaders in educational technology. They are dedicated to providing leadership and service to improve teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in K–12 education and teacher education. They provide their members with information, networking opportunities and guidance, as they face the challenge of incorporating computers, the Internet, and other new technologies into their schools.
Home of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), the Center for Applied Research in Education Technology (CARET) and the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC); ISTE meets its mission through knowledge generation, professional development and advocacy. ISTE also represents and informs its membership regarding educational issues of national scope through ISTE–DC. They support a worldwide network of affiliates and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and they offer their members the latest information through periodicals and journals.
An organization of great diversity, ISTE leads through presenting innovative educational technology books and programs; conducting professional development workshops, forums, and symposia; and researching, evaluating, and disseminating findings regarding educational technology on an international level. ISTE’s Web site, www.iste.org, contains coverage of many topics relevant to the educational technology community.
ISTE Supports the conference
ISTE Supports ACEC 2006 by co-hosting the International Reception which will welcome International delegates to Cairns. The International membership of ISTE are encouraged to attend the conference, contribute papers and join in the spirit of this international event on the ISTE Calendar.
ISTE will also
- attend the ACCE Board meeting
- take a leading role during a Boards' Meeting of non-profit associations including the Boards of International Affiliates of ISTE
- participate in meetings hosted during the conference
- promote the conference to ISTE members and affiliates
- support ISTE affiliate representatives to attend the conference
- promote the conference through the ISTE 100.
